The Xi - Iota chapter of the Kappa Sigma Fraternity was founded November 16, 1996 at Columbus State University. By this founding the unification of men from across the country have come together to build a brotherhood that will last a life time. We have been nationally recognized for our efforts to aid Breast Cancer Research here, and we are currently the largest Fraternity on campus. So what is Kappa Sigma? That's Easy!
Fellowship
As Columbus State University's Largest Fraternity on campus, there are plenty of opportunities to meet the men of Kappa Sigma. We are always hosting various fundraisers (Shave to Save, Doughnut sales, Cookouts), and participating in the many Intramural sports offered (Basketball, Dodgeball, Flag Football, Soccer, and Softball). Many Kappa Sig's reside on or near campus, and are easily accessible to talk to about the Fraternity or just hang out. A great way to meet these guys would be to frequent the Greek Center on campus.
On becoming a brother of this Fraternity many of the men will tell you that, "Becoming a member of Kappa Sigma, you create long-lasting friendships and a bond of brotherhood with each and every member. These are the guys you will always keep in touch with, who will always be there for you, and who will stand with you through the good and the bad. They are your Brothers."

Leadership
Why does being a leader matter? When was the last time you met a great leader? When you join Kappa Sigma you will be in the company of some of the campuses most prominent leaders. With members being a part of Greek Council, Student Government, Honor Societies, and leading other various activities on and off campus, you will realize that we deeply believe in servant leadership and leading by example.
More famous leaders include Brothers Bob Dole, Robert Redford, and Sam Donaldson. Each have reported that being a member of Kappa Sigma taught them the leadership skills necessary to get them where they are today.
Scholarship
Currently, Kappa Sigma has the highest cumulative GPA on Campus. We recognize that your number one goal is to get a degree from Columbus State University, and we give you the tools needed to acquire those goals. With majors ranging from Business, to Fine Arts, to Pre-Med, there is not a Brother that can't help you out with any class you are in.
In order to maximize the college
experience, for over 80 years the Kappa Sigma Endowment Fund has
been rewarding the qualified brothers of the Fraternity over
$300,000 each year. Since 1948, the Endowment Fund has given $3.5
Million to qualified undergraduate brothers. In Kappa Sigma,
Excellence is rewarded and in the biennium of 2007-2009, brothers of
this chapter have collectively received $7,000.

Service
Want to be more involved on and off campus? Joining Kappa Sigma allows you to become an active member of your community. Being a volunteer, doing home renovations, and organizing fundraisers for greater causes are just some of the many activities you could be involved in as brother of Kappa Sigma. The Xi-Iota chapter raised over $5,000 last year for the American Cancer Society, volunteered at the COX Multiple Sclerosis 150 mile Bicycle race, and even helped in securing the facilities for the campus's newest sorority AOII.
Kappa Sigma is "Not for an hour, or a day, or a college term only...but for life." As a brother of Kappa Sigma you will learn to follow The Star and Crescent and know your call to service: A Greater Cause. With the campuses only active alumni chapter, the brothers of the Xi-Iota Chapter remain active members long after graduation from Columbus State University.
