Organization competition

Highest GPA award

  • The organization’s advisor must fill out the GPA competition form (pdf). Once the advisor signs the form, it is to be submitted to the Student Life office by the appropriate deadline (TBA). This form will include an updated roster, each member’s 909 number, individual GPA’s, and the average GPA for the organization.

Philanthropy award

  • The organization’s advisor must fill out the philanthropy form (pdf). This form will also request information from the non-profit organization for verification.

  • Philanthropy hours must be completed for a registered non-profit organization.

  • Time contributed to a non-profit organization will be based on the organization’s participation, not by individual members. The philanthropy must be supported by the organization.

  • Organization’s can submit a letter from the non-profit organization as well.

  • 1 hour of philanthropy = 2 points

  • Deadline for submission of forms TBA

Event programming award

  • The organization’s advisor must fill out the event programming form (pdf).
  • For an event to be eligible for submission to this category it must meet the following criteria:
    • Open to CSU students

    • Registered online with the Student Life event calendar

    • Interest meetings or general meetings will not be included in this category

  • Each eligible event is worth 5 points

Spirit award

  • We will discuss with SGA officers and representatives the appropriate criteria for this award.

  • Award will be voted on by the representatives of SGA (this will exclude the executive officers and the senators).

*Awards will be given for fall semester, spring semester, and overall


All awards will have the following categories that relates to the number of active members in an organization. Active status of a member is established when that person is currently enrolled at CSU and has fulfilled all membership requirements for the individual organization. Organizations who attempt to include non-active members in this competition will be disqualified from all categories and may be subject to disciplinary actions.

Small = 20 or fewer members
Medium = 21 – 60 members
Large = 61 or more members

Each award will contribute to a Best Organization category. The winner of this award will be determined by points earned from winning awards in the Highest GPA, Philanthropy, and Programming categories.
