Girls Just Want To Have Fund$

The Columbus Branch of AAUW recently joined up with Girls Inc for a conference for girls and their mothers.

Girls Just Want To Have Fund$ strived to teach how to be independent and economically secure in today’s society.  AAUW members and other community leaders led interesting workshops: Dollars and $en$e, used hands-on budgeting exercises which made participants realize that rent is more important than a new dress. Education/Career Choices = Money, showed how education impacts your career choices and your financial life.

Be a millionaire before you’re 30! , helped the girls and their moms recognize the importance of early and regular saving.  Lunch, Goodie bags, and door prizes were provided by area businesses.
